laptop issue

**Update** My laptop might still be under warranty!

I'm sorry I haven't been reading everyone's blogs in the past week. The connector jack on my laptop (the jack that connects the adapter to the computer) decided to short circuit and is no longer able to charge my computer, which is apparently a rather common thing on Gateways. Thankfully, we have a second computer, a Mac, that Jared uses for music stuff so I can make this quick update and check my emails. The Mac has also started to be a troublemaker and so I try not to use it for long periods of time. Hopefully, within the week we will be able to have my laptop up and running again and I can catch up with everyone!!!
Thank you to all who wished me congrats on my one-year vegan anniversary and one-year Atlanta anniversary. You rock! Also, to make a very long day short, my orientation went well and I am officially a student again. My In State tuition status was accepted which means cheap tuition! I start my first three summer session classes on May 27th. Two of the three classes this summer are chemistry and a chemistry lab. I haven't had any chemistry studies since I was a freshman at FSU in 1997 and its been 6 years since I graduated from USF, so it's also been a while since I was in a college setting. Yikes!
Just for kicks, I found a picture of one of my very first days at FSU taken June of 1997! My baby brothers Drew (in the red, who is now 19) and Stephen (next to me, who is about to turn 22 in a few weeks) and my beautiful mom are also in the picture. I remember this day as if it just happened yesterday and cannot believe that this picture was taken about 11 years ago when I was a fresh-faced and very smiley 17-year-old freshman.

Glad orientation went well, and yay for cheap tuition! I have lost 2 laptops to the same issue, and neither were Gateways. I think it's just a laptop problem in general. Good luck getting it fixed, we had to dump ours entirely each time. :(

Oooh dang on the short circuit. That happened to my iBook a few months ago, actually.

Good luck with chemistry! If you need any pointers on what professors and labs to avoid, I can ask my friends who have taken it at GSU!

Darn these computers!! I have so many problems with my Compaq laptop, but my Mac, which I've had for almost 6 years is always in good condition. I'm thinking of switching my laptop to a Mac Book. Who knows.

Congrats on the cheap tuition!!!

Sorry to hear about the computer problems. That is always really frustrating. My husband and I both have Macbooks (which we love) and a backup PC (which I hardly use.)

Congrats on the new student status. I'm back at school right now, getting my second Bachelor's, and it is funny how people seem so young now, haha.

awww man...I just skimmed thru many of the posts I have missed due to my M.I.A and I've missed so much! :-( Including a vegan potluck in Candler park (!!). Congrats on the one year anniversary on both counts. And what's this about school?...I need to scan more of your old posts some more. We should hang out soon as my life crisis is calming down some (though it looks like you might be getting busy soon....). I hope all is well!

Glad everything is working out with school. Sad face about the computer though. Some day soon I will actually be able to fix computers for all my friends. Right now I am really good at taking them apart :) I fixed an old desk top though... sorta. haha. Anywho we need to catch some breakfast or something before we both start school this summer.

Glad you have the school thing all figured out. Are you excited to go back?!? Should be fun :-)

I have been bad about reading blogs lately as well... so I know how you feel!
